Rose of Sharon is a Transitional House for Women serving battered and Homeless women is hosting our first funderaiser and our biggest support Debra Nixon of Women called Moses from Dallas TX will be speaking to us about domestic violence. So doing some spring cleaning and getting rid of items you no longer need? Do you want to shop for FREE???
Attendees are asked to bring a minimum of 10 new or gently used items (you can always bring more than 10 items). The items can be clothing, shoes, accessories, including hand bags scarves and jewelry (no pajamas, lounge wear, and under garments accepted). Gently used, must be clean and free from all stains, rips, or holes. Items must be still fashionable! All items that are not swapped will be donated to another women's shelter.
Please bring fall/ spring seasonal items (any size). Here are some examples of items good for swapping: jeans, career pants, fall/ spring dresses, sweaters, shoes, any type of accessory, coats, & jackets]
* Upon arrival to the Clothing Swap, you hand in your minimum 10 items to be swapped. Those attendees that did not donate items to be swapped may attend but there will be an additional donation for participation.

* Once your items have been checked in, you are free to swap, mingle, eat some light refreshments, and enjoy yourself.
* (IMPORTANT) As long as you bring the minimal amount of items to be swapped you may SHOP TIL YOU DROP. If someone else has their eye on something the pair of you can flip a coin to see who is going to get it (this will be fun)

Our Lake to Lake Lunch Tour takes you from the shores of Lake Monona to the shores of Lake Mendota. As we wander our way through the Isthmus history, we will visit the top attractions of Frank Lloyd Wright's Monona Terrace, State Capitol building, the famous State Street, and the UW Memorial Union lake front terrace. This guided tour allows you to explore down town with ease. Let us guide you to delicious restaurants, local watering holes and unique specialty stores. At the end of the tour, not only will you be well fed and entertained, you will be equipped with suggestions and insights to explore on your own. Tour Information When: Tues-Sat. April 17-October 27, 2012 Time: 12:30pm -3:30pm Where: Downtown Madison Capital Square and State Street area. Meeting Place: The Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. How long: The food tour will last approximately 3 hours and covers 1.8 miles with some stairs. Three of the six food stops will be sit down locations. Who: The tour is designed for adults of all fitness levels. Young adults and children are welcome at the discretion of the parents. How much: per ticket. The Brides Against Breast Cancer Nationwide Tour of Gowns is returning to Greenville, SC on April 22nd at the Hilton – Greenville. We are thrilled that you are interested in being a part of our volunteer team!
SALE INFO:

General Sale: Sunday, April 22nd from 9AM – 9 PM
VOLUNTEER INFO:
Choose yours shift(s) above and reserve your space. No tickets are required, but registration is necessary to reserve your time slot. Please arrive 5 minutes before for your shift! Upon arrival, please check-in at the volunteer table and grab a t-shirt.
You can also sign up for multiple days and shifts. Feel free to invite your friends, family and co-workers — even your husbands and boyfriends (we need guys to help with the heavy stuff!).
Where You Can Help
1. Greeters – Greet Bride, give layout of the floor plan, dressing room rules, point out vendors and outreach tables. (men can help).
2. Registration – Have brides and guests sign in all required information. Introduce greeters and personal shoppers. (men can help).
3. Personal Shoppers – Assist brides in finding the dress of their dreams. Many brides will come alone. You will become their mother, sister, maid of honor, grandmother, and best friend. Once you find 3 dresses to match her style, you will carry dresses to the fitting room, and introduce her to the dressing room assistant. (men can help).
4. Dressing Room Assistant – Each assistant will have 3 dressing rooms to manage. You will be responsible for assisting bride in and out of dresses, removing dresses from room and placing them on go back rack, finding alternate dresses for brides. We want the bride to try on all possible dresses prior to exiting. Sales and retail experience a plus. (women only please)
5. Go back runner – Responsible for keeping fresh inventory on the racks at all times. Also assist the dressing room attendants with dresses. You will become very familiar with the inventory. Please ask assistants if they need replacement dresses for the brides. (men can help)
6. Fill – ins – Help with any miscellaneous needs that come up as the day progresses. (men can help)
7. Setup – Help with moving in racks, setting up interior displays, and any miscellaneous needs that come up. (men can help)
8. Breakdown – Help with moving out racks, taking down interior displays, and any miscellaneous needs that come up. (men can help)
What to Wear
Please wear dressy attire, such as khaki, black or brown pants or skirt. You can wear jeans as long as there are no rips or holes! Feel free to wear casual clothes for set up/tear down shifts. Each volunteer will be given a Brides Against Breast Cancer t-shirt to wear at the event. Don't forget comfortable shoes!
Bring Friends!
Invite your friends, family and colleagues to join you! We need men too, especially for set up, tear down and to help return gowns to the racks during the sale, so invite your boyfriend, fiancé and brothers to help!
