So I’m a high level gymnast and I practice right after school. Past years I simply didn’t wear any makeup to school because I didn’t want it to swear and look bad at practice. I would like to start wearing makeup this year (mostly just eye stuff), but I don’t know what to do about practice after school. I get pretty sweaty and I don’t want to end up looking weird, but I do want my eyes to stand out more at school. Help?

My friends (jokingly) tease me all the time about how me and my husband are such a mismatched pair. They have since we were first dating. Obviously, we love each other, were compatible with each other on a emotional level, we’ve been together for years and are very happy with each other. But sometimes I do wonder out of sheer curiosity how the world views us when they see us and don’t know us. My husband is very business professional in his speech and mannerisms, on his free time he dresses pretty preppy, keeps his hair neat and short, he’s kind of no nonsense in his appearance, and as my friends put it, any woman’s ideal catch. I, on the other hand, am very strange in my appearance. I make most of my clothes, long vibrantly colored skirts, sundresses in unusual prints (like dinosaurs or lemons), interesting appliqué shirts. My hair is straight to my waist, I don’t wear makeup of any kind, I only own 2 simple pairs of shoes, sandals for summer and boots for winter. Except at work (I wear a jeweled stud), I usually wear a ring in my nose, have a bunch of earrings in my ears pierced at odd angles up in my cartilage. I kind of like looking different. I love living and thinking outside societal norms. Put me and my husband next to each other, and you have a man who looks like he just walked off wall street and a woman who looks like she just walked out of woodstock.
As I said, we work perfectly together in the truly important areas of life, and don’t really care how the other looks, but just curious, what would you think of a couple like this? On a strictly superficial level. I actually love how he looks, I think it’s sexy, and he loves that I am so natural and free spirited looking. I also know his coworkers kind of look at me like “what was he thinking” and my coworkers like “how on earth did she pull that off?”. Also, are you and your husband a mismatched pair? If so, how so?
Or wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, significant other in general…..

Could I get by with normal non-waterproof athletic shoes? How likely am I to encounter a bog that I will definitely need to pass? We are planning to stick to established trails and not venture out too far.

I do not own boots. My only option would be to spray my regular athletic shoes with waterproofing, which might not be very good for them

Q&A: What makeup combinations work best for light brown hair and blue eyes?
I have a friend who is asking me on makeup advice who has light brown hair and dark blue eyes. I have no knowledge of this considering I have black hair and brown eyes, so I’ve been experimenting with different color combinations on her.
